How to download a whole Pinterest board

Updated 2026-10-24 · 5 min read

Pinterest lets you save single images, but it has no button to download an entire board. If you want a real copy of a moodboard — for a client presentation, a design file or simply a backup — you have two options.

Option 1: Save pins one by one

On Pinterest's website, open a pin, click the … menu and choose Download image. Repeat for every pin.

This works for a handful of pins. For a board of 200 it means 200 rounds of clicking, files named with random strings, no board order and no sections.

Option 2: Download the whole board with Moodstash

Moodstash is a Chrome extension that saves every pin on a board into one ZIP file.

  1. Install Moodstash from the Chrome Web Store and log in to Pinterest. (Pinterest only shows part of each board when you're logged out.)
  2. Open the board you want to save.
  3. Click Download board in the bottom-left corner of the page.
  4. Choose Download all, or Choose pins to pick specific ones from a thumbnail grid.
  5. Open the ZIP in your Downloads folder.

What's inside the ZIP

FileWhat it is
Kitchen ideas/001_Walnut island_1010…jpgEach image in its original size, numbered in board order, with its title and pin ID
Kitchen ideas/Islands/014_….jpgPins in a board section, in their own folder
Kitchen ideas/manifest.csvA spreadsheet of every pin: link, title, description, source website, file name and pixel size

Very large boards are split into several ZIP files (part 1 of 3, and so on). If Chrome asks whether to allow multiple downloads, choose Allow.

Tips

A note on copyright

Downloading a pin doesn't give you rights to it. Keep downloads for personal reference and moodboards, credit creators, and ask permission before publishing someone else's work. The source links in manifest.csv make that easy.
